Carers must be able to assist disabled guests with loading and offloading (including their transfer from wheelchairs). For everyone’s safety, lifting will remain the responsibility of Carers.

Bank

Clydesdale Bank provides guests of the SEC with a free of charge ATM which is located on the main concourse next to the SEC Box Office. In addition, there is another ATM located next to RS McColls, however this does charge an administration fee for some services.

Bingo

The Bingo can only operate when enough people are sitting ready to play.  In some cases the Bingo may not open until later in the day.  Signs will be posted at the Ticket desks to this effect.

Carers

Guests with disabilities who still wish to ride or play stalls will be charged the full admission rate.  If the disabililty requires the guest to have a carer with them, and that carer also wants to ride or play stalls, the admission rate will apply.  If in any doubt, contact the Carnival Organisers Office.

Cloakroom

The Cloakroom is located on the main concourse and will be open for Guests to deposit items for the duration of the event for a fee of £2 per item, per day. Please note: items cannot be left in the Cloakroom overnight.

We do not have any age limits at the IRN-BRU Carnival but you must be accompanied by a responsible adult if under 12 years of age.

 

Food

Within the hall there are various food outlets selling everything from candy floss, hot dogs, chicken, to burger & chips. Click here for more information

Food outlets inside the hall close 30 minutes before the carnival closes.

Football colours

No-one will be allowed entry to the IRN-BRU Carnival wearing football colours.  If attending following a football game, please ensure you have a change of clothing.

Lost Property

All lost property will be brought to the organisers’ office in the first instance; thereafter any items not collected will be passed to the SEC Security Control Room.

Leaving early

On entry to the Carnival, you will be hand stamped.  This means you can leave and return on the same day.  The hand stamp changes daily.

If a member of your party becomes unwell, please make your way to the Medical Centre.  A member of the Carnival team will attend and discuss the possibility of visiting another time.

Medical Centre

There is a fully staffed Medical Centre located on the concourse in the SEC.  If you do require medical attention, please make contact with any of the stewards/staff working at the event and they will assist/direct you

Meeting point

There is a meeting point located on the concourse and will be signed ‘Meeting Point’.  Please arrange in advance to meet your friends/family here should be separated during your visit.

If you lose your accompanying adult or are an adult who has lost their child, please look for a steward or a member of staff who will direct you to the Organisers Office.

Non-riders

Entry to the IRN-BRU Carnival is £14 for everyone.  Vouchers can be used on the game stalls as well as the rides and the new Inflatable Play area.  You may also share your vouchers with other people in your party.

Parking

There is a multi-storey car park situated at Congress Way which is operated by City Parking. This is charged at a daily rate of £8.00 per vehicle. This arrangement is subject to change, please refer to the following website for up to date information http://www.secc.co.uk/.

Vehicles over 1.9m should park in car park 5 which is located to the West side of the SEC.

Pre-booked tickets

Click here to buy your tickets. Tickets will be sold online until Sunday 14th January, 2018. All pre-booked ticket holders can access the Carnival via the entrance designated for pre-booked tickets and complimentary ticket holders. All pre-booked tickets are subject to a booking fee (10% per transaction).

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes.  Please print off your ticket or have your ticket on your mobile phone.  All tickets will be scanned on arrival and all pre-booked tickets can enter via the designated entrance (do not queue up at the ticket boxes).  Follow signs on the main concourse of the SEC which will direct you to the entrance.  We may ask for ID if you have booked a ticket that requires proof of age, for example, over 60s or under 3 years entry.

Queuing

There are certain times when the Carnival will be busy and Queues will form at most of the rides.  Signs will be posted at the rides, indicating the approximate length of time you may have to Queue.

Ride Access Pass

What is a Ride Access Pass?

Ride Access Passes are available in addition to paying for standard entry and may be used by eligible guests to access the ride via the exit barrier. The special access is intended to provide a reduced waiting time compared to the standard queue line although this cannot always be guaranteed. The eligible guest and up to 3 friends or family can be issued with a Ride Access Pass.

Who is eligible?

Anyone with a disability badge or proof of disability living allowance (Given accessibility of rides, ride access pass cannot accommodate wheelchair users).

Collection Point

Guests who qualify for the Ride Access Pass should go to the Carnival Organisers Office, with suitable documentation.

In some cases, due to build or size, the ride may be deemed unsuitable due to the restraints, locking mechanisms etc.  The operators decision is final in this instance.

All tickets are non-refundable.

Videoing / Photography

In general audio and video recording equipment and professional cameras are not permitted. However, small non-professional cameras and phone cameras may be permitted.

Professional photographers should contact the organisers’ office directly for express permission to photograph their event.

Please be advised that organisers of the IRN-BRU Carnival will be taking photographs and filming the show for marketing purposes. Entering the hall will grant your full permission to be filmed or photographed and any use of such material. If you do not want to participate or have any questions please contact us or inform a member of staff in the Organisers Office.

Vouchers

Vouchers can be used on rides and game stalls.  All rides are 1 voucher per ride and stalls are 2 vouchers per game.  Dodgem cars are designed for 2 people and each person will require a voucher.  If you wish to ride alone, it will cost 2 vouchers.

Baby Changing Facilities

There are three baby changing rooms at the SEC; two are on the main concourse adjacent to the central ladies toilets and the other is at the west end of the venue next to the west entrance. 

What if I lose my child?

If you lose your child, please contact one of the stewards immediately. You will then be directed to the organiser's office where full details will be taken. Lost children will be brought to the organiser's office until reunited with parents/guardian.

Wheelchair hire

A limited number of wheelchairs are available, however visitors are advised to bring their own wheelchair if possible and is appropriate to the chosen transport method. To request a wheelchair in advance, please use the dedicated web form - https://www.sec.co.uk/visitor-information/accessibility. When to visit

The days prior to Christmas and also the final week (Monday 8th to Friday 12th January) are generally quieter.
